"They said to me, 'You know, we’ve written Crank II,'" recalled Statham. "And I said, 'There’s no way!' And they literally sent it over. They write very, very quickly and they sent me the script and I was thumbing through it with a box of tissues just laughing and crying, going, 'This is absolutely silly. When do we make it?'"
"It’s hard to talk about this script because you look at The Bank Job, a true story that is full of intrigue, surprise and deceit and Crank is just like from the f*cking stratosphere. It is so out there, it’s so wacky, it’s so unbelievable, but at the same time it’s the Neveldine and Taylor edgy, mad filmmaking that they do so well. It’s fun. It’s entertainment. Some people think it’s sheer horsesh*t but every person that I’ve met has actually said it’s terrific. I’m sure there’s some people that don’t like it. You can’t please everybody but there’s a lot of people that love it and I particularly love it."
Transporter 3 is ready to shoot."It’s pretty much done. So we’ll be on a plane to Paris."Statham had previously criticized Transporter 2 for going a little too cartoony, but he thinks the third will strike a good balance. He attended the premiere at the Leicester Square Odeon where he snarled, "We are just waiting for a decent enough script. I'm not just going to do a romantic comedy for the sake of it." Of course you're not, Jason. You're a man of quiet dignity and obvious integrity, a set of values which came across fully in that Kit Kat advert you did a few years back. Action star Jason Statham has hit out at the nightlife on offer in Hollywood. The Transporter actor said he enjoys living in LA but misses the down-to-earth nature of pubs in his native Britain. He told Front magazine: "You can't have a couple of pints with your old mates down the local pub. It's all f****** fancy wine bars, restaurants, and clubs that close at two and play hip-hop."

British action man JASON STATHAM is in training for a third THE TRANSPORTER film, in a bid to make sure he's fit and injury free when he starts shooting with French director LUC BESSON. The Snatch star admits the two previous car-chase films have taken a lot out of him and he's determined to make sure he's well-prepared for a third and final film. He says, "I'm preparing physically now. I'm on a very strict regime from six o'clock in the morning to mid-day every day. "I've had some injuries and now that they're all healed, I've got to put myself back in fighting position. "It's basically a lot of stretching and conditioning, so, when I do get involved with all the choreography, I can turn up on day four of the action sequences and still have energy."

"Eva Mendes is like the female Jason Statham - she is basically playing the same chick in every film. And while there might be minor character nuances, she always looks pretty much exactly the same. In a recent interview with IESB.net, macho man Jason Statham ('The Transporter', 'In the Name of the King') mused over the possibility of playing a superhero on the big screen.
"There’s so many cool fucking characters. 'The Hulk', I’ve always been a big fan of but Ed Norton’s doing that. And rightly so. He’s fucking amazing. And he’s working with Louis Leterrier, believer it or not who did The Transporter. I’m trying to think of what would be a good comic book character for me to play," Statham said. "You know, there’s talk of them redoing 'The Crow'. That was a good movie with Brandon Lee, although that was years ago. So if that one comes my way, bang! You know, there’s so many comic book movies out there and most of the time there’s only a handful of people who can do them any justice. Hopefully, they’ll come my way for one of them."
Surprisingly, the actor reveals he's also talked to Marvel about one of their long-gestating projects.
"It’s funny, I took a meeting for 'Sub-Mariner'," said Statham. "I don’t know if I’d look right running around in a tight speedo with wings on my ankles."

It seems that The Transporter might be going the way of the Mission: Impossible series now. According to FilmsActu.com, it seems another new director might be brought on to helm the third Transporter film, and that is Olivier Megaton. The site reports that secondary casting is underway and that the film will commence production this summer in Paris. Megaton had previously directed Red Siren and was the second unit director for Xavier Gens' Hitman, in which he directed the memorable subway fight sequence. None of this has been confirmed as of yet - nor has star Jason Statham's involvement been confirmed - but we'll have more for you as it comes.
